François Storrer


François Storrer was appointed CNE 2 General Secretary and Scientific Advisor in February 2019.

Reporting directly to the Chairman, he coordinates and monitors the Board’s work.

After a Master of Engineering in heat transfer and fluid mechanics (1990), and another one in Nuclear Engineering (1991), he got a PhD in Reactor Physics (1993), and started his career at CEA as Research Scientist in reactor physics and nuclear data analysis (1993-2003). He was then in charge of international affairs (2003-2006) and later involved as Program Engineer in the coordination of R&D activities dedicated to the development of advanced reactors and associated fuel cycle (2006-2009).

He also served as Scientific Advisor on nuclear R&D in the French ministry for higher education and research (2009-2011), and in the ministry for energy, sustainable development and ecology (2012-2015).

His interest was more recently (2016-2018) dedicated to the coordination of international R&D collaborations for the development of GEN-IV systems in the framework of the GIF (Generation IV International Forum).
